14k Gold Vintage Scrimshaw Nantucket Basket Charm Pendant with Lucky Penny



This is a gorgeous handwoven 14k gold Nantucket basket charm/pendant. The basket finished with a swing handle and the lid opens and closes securely. The lid of the basket is ornamented with an oval Scrimshaw insert depicting Ship. Opens to reveal a miniature replica of a penny. Inside of the basket inscribed: "I'M A TINY NANTUCKET BASKET HAND WOVEN AND STOUT DON'T LOSE ME OR ABUSE ME AND I'LL NEVER WEAR OUT". Basket with handle measures 3/4" x 3/4" x 5/8" without loop and bale and weighs 5.5 grams without penny. Bottom marked American Scrimshaw 14k. It is in excellent condition.
